SHORESIDE,
located at 300 Sixth Avenue,
is an apartment complex specifically designed to accommodate the housing
needs of the elderly, handicapped and disabled. It is the first
apartment complex of its kind in East Greenwich and has been open since
1978. The complex is subsidized by the Section 8 Housing Program and
qualified persons pay no more than 30% of their adjusted income for rent.
Close to shopping, churches and the Town conveniences, SHORESIDE is
situated in a peaceful, scenic setting along Bleachery Pond in a park like
setting. Residents enjoy a community room, laundry, crafts room and
a full kitchen.
A tenants association represents the residents. It is directed and
guided through efforts of residents and is kept self sufficient by a small
dues donation. Meetings are held the third Thursday of each month
from September through June to keep residents informed of issues, events,
activities and proposals.
SHORESIDE is owned by Cove
Homes, Inc and managed by The Housing Authority of the Town of East
Greenwich.
